Dispatcher

Position Overview

A dispatcher at Whistler Connection plays a vital role in planning and executing prompt and efficient transfers for our passengers. Our ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, a keen eye for detail and a love of problem solving. Exceptional communication skills (spoken English) and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment will ensure you excel in this position.

Reports to: Dispatch Manager
Based in: Whistler, BC
Range: $20 – $28 per hour
Hours: Full time, seasonal, weekends
NOC: 72024

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Monitor and coordinate drivers to ensure accurate and efficient departures.
• Managing changes to bookings and ensuring service standards are maintained.
• Monitor phone, email and radio communications.
• Prioritise calls according to urgency and importance.
• Communicating with drivers regarding guest information and road conditions.
• Assigning vehicles and drivers to transfers.
• Planning and coordinating in-resort shuttles.
• Work with airport representatives to ensure wait time guarantees are being achieved for all flight arrivals.
• Have a thorough understanding of all Whistler Connection products and services.
• Accurately record operational data.
• Accurately enter reservations in our booking system.
• Work well with the team. This means actively contributing at team meetings, maintaining flexibility in your schedule, and a willingness to adapt to changes in workflow and environment as our business is ever-changing.

Requirements

• Works well under pressure.
• Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• A team player with a positive attitude.
• Sound judgement and critical thinking skills.
• Be able to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language.
• Be available to work a variety of shift patterns including early morning, evenings and weekends.
• Good knowledge of Whistler.

Not essential, but a plus:

• Good knowledge of the sea to sky area.
• Previous experience in the transportation industry.
